FAYETTE — Librarian Lady Elaine Wilcox is announcing upcoming events this summer at the Underwood Memorial Library.

Summer Story Hour will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday mornings, July 13 through Aug. 24. Children can enjoy stories and crafts from around the world with Lady Elaine and her helpers.

An author visit will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 15. Local authors Arnold and Leda Sturtevant will be talking about their latest book, Footprints of Patriots, about the history of the Fayette Baptist Church from 1792-2017. The church will be celebrating its 225 anniversary Aug. 19th and 20th.

The 50th Anniversary of the 1967 Silver Tea held at the library will be remembered with an arts and crafts show 1-5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6. Wilcox said a similar show was held 50 years ago. Historic photographs and newspaper clippings will be on display. Refreshments will be served.

Set up for the show will be Saturday, Aug. 5. Those wishing to display something should contact Wilcox by July 28.
